Mission
The central aim of the DIA Research Group is to develop concepts that help people to make better decisions regarding their private and company sponsored retirement provisions.This work is grounded on the economic and psychological aspects of retirement provisions as advocated by Behavioral Finance research. Based on a better understanding of the investment and retirement savings behavior in Germany, decision support systems will be developed that incorporate and correct individual biases while providing guidance in the investment process. A retirement provisions center of excellence will be established that will hold the leading position in Germany not only in academic research but also in teaching.
Apart from this kind of investors training and research promotion the political debate on appropriate state-controlled interventions concerning private and company sponsored retirement provisions should be stimulated by scientific knowledge about individual behavior.
